“Open monitoring (OM) is one form of mindfulness meditation that has been shown through research to help reduce the subjective experience of intrusive thoughts popping into your head.42 OM (also called mindfulness meditation) is a practice in which you simply observe your thoughts nonjudgmentally, acknowledge them, and then (theoretically) let them float by or pass on.
