I prayed for him again as we worshipped, and when the service ended I said hello to a family behind us who were visiting from a sister church in Toront

Andrew Murray
“Christ Jesus said: “I am the Vine, ye are the branches.” In other words: “I, the living One who have so completely given myself to you, am the Vine. You cannot trust me too much. I am the Almighty Worker, full of a divine life and power.” You are the branches of the Lord Jesus Christ. If there is in your heart the consciousness that you are not a strong, healthy, fruit-bearing branch, not closely linked with Jesus, not living in Him as you should be—then listen to Him say: “I am the Vine, I will receive you, I will draw you to myself, I will bless you, I will strengthen you, I will fill you with my Spirit. I, the Vine, have taken you to be my branches, I have given myself utterly to you; children, give yourselves utterly to me. I have surrendered myself as God absolutely to you; I became man and died for you that I might be entirely yours. Come and surrender yourselves entirely to be mine.”
Andrew Murray, Absolute Surrender

A.W. Tozer
“We might be wise to follow the insight of the enraptured heart rather than the more cautious reasoning of the theological mind.”
A. W. Tozer, The Knowledge of the Holy

“If our perception of God’s character is distorted due to our own experiences of life’s disappointments and our own histories of trauma, then having an all-seeing and always-present God could be stifling and produce fear instead of love and trust.”
E. James Wilder, Joyful Journey: Listening to Immanuel

“We tend to spend a lot of energy focusing on resolving traumas in the hope that we will be free from the pain trauma brings. What we often miss or overlook is the power of building memories of God’s goodness that give us a sense of being loved.”
E. Wilder, Joyful Journey: Listening to Immanuel

C.S. Lewis
“Child,' said the Lion, 'I am telling you your story, not hers. No one is told any story but their own.”
C.S. Lewis, The Horse and His Boy
