Heather has taught elementary, middle and college level students in MN, WA and WI in the USA. She graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College with a degree in elementary education. Her Portland State University graduate work took her to Mexico to study migration issues in education. Heather has both her reading and English Language Learner teaching endorsements.

​Currently, she is a behavior intervention teacher in WA state leading small groups of students in social/emotional learning. Heather is active locally in her community's ACES Action Alliance. She helps her school's multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS).
