VIDYA BIRKHOFF, is a writer and artist from Trinidad and Tobago. Her research into the origin of Carnival across the Caribbean stimulated her passion for writing. She hopes to capture - by the pen and brush - the emotional triumphs and celebrations from festivities borne out of folklore and religious ceremonies of the rich Caribbean culture.

After living and working in the U.S. and in several islands across the Caribbean, she and her husband Ralph now live and work just above a small fishing village in Lambeau, Tobago. YUH CAN’T STOP DE CARNIVAL is her debut novel.
