The Finalist is a showstopping debut, dripping with dread and dressed in blood-spattered tulle. The horror is delicious and the atmosphere is en pointe. This book gives new meaning to the phrase "dance until you die." ...more

Scary Movie Night by Miranda Smith
"a lover letter to all things horror and Hitchcock, SCARY MOVIE NIGHT is a bingeworthy blockbuster that will surely entertain thriller readers this summer!

Scary Movie Night by Miranda Smith
"Honestly? HUGE SLAY. After the first half or so, the tension ramps up. A closed circle/isolation thriller is only as good as its cast, and these characters are not only balanced, but Messy with a capital M.

Add in endless twists and an overarching Hit" Read more of this review »

“In a house where food was love but eating was shameful, family meals were both a relief and a curse, a volatile push-and-pull of comfort and fear.”
Luke Dumas, Nothing Tastes as Good

“but he didn’t want to be supported by fat people and the average-bodied White women who shouldered their way in; he wanted to be supported by the medical community who never stopped making him feel like he was on the brink of death and bringing society down with him.”
Luke Dumas, Nothing Tastes as Good

“But the sick feeling tugging down on his heart, that was real. The never-ending humiliation and degradation, that was real. The feeling of being trapped inside his own body, inside his own life: that was as real as it fucking came.”
Luke Dumas, Nothing Tastes as Good
