Mark Wainwright is an award-winning author, editor, and professor who has spent over two decades crafting stories and Christian living content—from devotionals to middle grade mysteries to young adult fiction. Holding both an MA in English and an MFA in creative writing, Mark brings a deep understanding of craft and storytelling to everything he writes.

For sixteen years, Mark managed editorial departments at several Christian publishers before transitioning to the classroom. He has been teaching Professional Writing at Pensacola Christian College for the past nine years, where he trains the next generation of writers in creative writing, editing, and publication—skills he actively practices in his own career. His work has appeared in ParentLife, Answers magazine, Kids Answers, Today’s Christian Living, Clubhouse Jr., Refresh Magazine, Voyage of Discovery, Christian Devotions, Inkspirations Online, Journal for Christian Educators, Keys for Kids, and other national publications. He has also written over 200 radio devotional scripts for Trail Life USA (the largest Christian scouting organization for boys) and served as a contributing editor for several educational publishers.

His middle-grade adventure novel Trapped in a Hot Air Balloon, part of Abeka's sixth-grade curriculum, is enjoyed by thousands of students across the States. Awesome Facts About Space, (published by Answers in Genesis) won 1st place in the 2025 Illumination Awards and “Book of the Year” in the 2025 Selah Awards. In 2025 alone, his work placed in sixteen national competitions—including five 1st place finishes.

Mark lives in Pensacola, Florida, with his wife and teenage kids. When he isn’t teaching or writing, he’s out exploring national parks—adventures that often spark ideas for his next story. In everything he does, Mark hopes to inspire readers and writers to embrace life's uncertainties and live courageously for the glory of God.
