Občanským jménem Alena Wagner se narodila 6.10.1966 v Praze. Vystudovala Filozofickou fakultu Karlovy univerzity obor čeština a pedagogika (1989) a doktorské studium na VŠUP v oboru teorie výtvarných umění (2007).

Působila jako nezávislá publicistka, posléze pracovala šest let v pozici reportérky, editorky a zástupkyně šéfredaktora týdeníku Reflex. V letech 2000 – 2002 zastávala funkci ředitelky Odboru public relations Magistrátu hl.m.Prahy. V této pozici iniciovala mezinárodní soutěž na dodnes užívané logo hl. m. Prahy.
