R.I. McLaughlin added a status update: King Sorrow by Joe Hill is a DNF. Just couldn’t fathom reading 600+ more pages of that. I was expecting so much better from the author of N0S4A2, one of my favorite horror novels. The characters were unlikable, the villain was laughable and his summoning felt unearned (who knew you could summon an interdimensional dragon if you just got high really high and drunk?) and the story was threadbare.
