Shelli began writing in earnest when the last of her five children graduated from home school high school. She is herself a 2020 graduate of George Fox University, with an interdisciplinary degree in biblical studies and art and a minor in writing.

Besides writing and encouraging other writers, Shelli is a Bible student and artist. Other favorite pastimes are reading, researching, and writing, and spending time in creation. This is where you may find her hiking in the woods, walking on a beach, biking, stargazing, camping, picnicking, or exploring natural parks. She also enjoys hosting friends from far and near and treasures time spent with her husband, adult children, grandchildren, and extended family.

I love this story! I've read all but one of Ashley's regency romance novels, and this is my favorite! I read it again, immediately, after I was finished with it, and I may give it one more read soon again, and again. I'm an avid reader of many genres ...more

Great Characters

The mix of mischievous, confused, and compassionate characters and their growth and interactions in the midst of difficult circumstances was engaging. I loved the faith aspect of this story as well—besides historical fiction being my

“When a train goes through a tunnel and it gets dark, you don’t throw away the ticket and jump off. You sit still and trust the engineer.”

C.S. Lewis
“I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.”

Jackie Hill Perry
“...her life was full of power in ways that I never knew possible. How when unbelief came near, she faithfully turned Scripture loose to capture and strangle it into submission to a higher will than her own. A gifted woman she was but ungodly she was not. I had known many a person with glorious gifts and satanic lives, but this woman showed me that knowing God was more than knowing about Him and doing things for Him but knowing Him.”
Jackie Hill Perry, Gay Girl, Good God: The Story of Who I Was and Who God Has Always Been

J.I. Packer
“J.I. Packer writes, “It [knowing God] is the most practical project anyone can engage in. Knowing about God is crucially important for living our lives.” Packer continues, “Disregard the study of God, and you sentence yourself to stumble and blunder through this life blindfolded, as it were, with no sense of direction and no understanding of what surrounds you.”
J.I. Packer
