Christopher Tapp is a Canadian writer of poetry & prose. Residing in Montreal, with their boyfriend and two black cats, Tapp decided to self-publish their first collection of poetry (in 2022) titled 'may i wear your crown'. The debut collection charted at #1 in Gay Poetry & #2 in Canadian poetry. Now, with their sophomore release of 'may i come home', Tapp's goal is to inspire readers to live as authentically as they can and to ask for help when they are struggling. You can now find this poet taking improv classes on the weekend, writing in some crowded city park, or at home dancing to 2000's pop hits.

5 stars because this is the first book I’ve managed to finish this year. But 5 stars also because this is truly so well written and immersive, and oh my god midwives and nuns were truly some of the most underrated heroes in history !!

Fanny
Fanny is 28% done with Girl's Girl: this is well written and enjoyable so far but i draw the line at believing that gen z teens are using mega video with its 72 minute time limit to watch sailor moon DUBBED. there simply no way . my suspension of disbelief says this speaks too strongly of the author’s lived experience lmfao (i get it girl i too was a queer teen in suburban northern ohio in 2005)

“i am sorry
to the gay kid
i laughed at
at christian camp
before i knew
i’m gay too
i’m sorry that i
split your world
right in half
so i could
form my own
i’m sorry i
made you feel
like you were
a sin

you are not a sin”
christopher tapp, May I Wear Your Crown

“i am homesick
for a home that
i have yet to create”

“that melomaniac boy
always chasing dreams
bigger than himself
how can he not see
the best beat
and rhythm
is burning
in between my legs

- right in front of you”
christopher tapp, May I Wear Your Crown

“writing about you after you’ve left is a bittersweet release. it’s a lump in the throat type of writing. leaving my bones crushed in ink. these are long lost cousins to the love poems that once carried your name. with every syllable. my journals bleed the words that wrote the story of us. each locked diary has hidden their key from me. they cannot stand any more plot twists to the folk tale about the lonely prince. our guards are up. and my gut is whispering. it is okay to put down the pen. take a deep breath. and rest.”
christopher tapp, May I Wear Your Crown

“you are not doing
god’s work
when you break
apart my love”
