Richard Wollf's academic work and writing have focused on intersections of media, religion, popular culture and boxing. Originally from New York, has has also studied and taught at schools across the Midwest. A graduate of two Lutheran seminaries, with a doctorate in mass communication from Ohio University, he currently serves as Professor and Department Chair of Communication and Visual Arts at Valparaiso University in Indiana. He teaches a range of courses in human communication, film studies, and television production, with special topics classes in faith on film and television, boxing and media, Hitchcock, and horror films. He advises and trains the Boxing Club at VU, where he also advises the student-run radio station, WVUR-FM. ...more
