Narodil se 23. 11. 1959 v Praze. Vystudoval bohemistiku a germanistiku na Filozofické fakultě dnešní Masarykovy univerzity v Brně, kde také působí jako pedagog. Zabývá se teorií a didaktikou překladu, současnou českou literaturou a tvůrčím psaním. V r. 1994 zde s profesorem Zdeňkem Kožmínem založil Ateliér tvůrčího psaní.

Vedle odborných prací, jako je Tvůrčí psaní (2001), první česká monografie o teorii a praxi oboru, Překlad jako kreativní proces. Teorie a praxe funkcionalistického překládání (2009) a kolektivní práce Slovem, akcí, obrazem (s V. Havlíkem a R. Horáčkem, 2010) nebo Tvůrčí psaní v literární výchově jako nástroj poznávání (2012), píše básně — Lesbický sen (1993), rozhlasové povídky, literární a výtvarné recenze a překládá z ně ...more
