Ian Baker laboured at a timber yard, a food factory, a dairy farm and several vineyards before getting his first editorial job at the age of 24. He has worked on magazines, newspapers and news websites in three Australian capitals, holds a PhD in ethics, has two daughters, and lives in Melbourne, where he was born.
