“A Humbling Reminder No generation in the Old Testament experienced more of God’s supernatural power and blessing than Joshua’s generation. This is the generation that finally possessed the promised land and experienced the fullness of all the promises God had made to their ancestors. The book of Joshua is filled with so many victories and miracles and blessings. No generation had more invested in them than Joshua’s generation. But Judges 2:10 says, when talking about the Joshua generation, “And all that generation also were gathered to their fathers. And there arose another generation after them who did not know the Lord or the work that he had done for Israel.” The rest of the book of Judges is a humbling reminder of how quickly the next generation can lose all the blessings their fathers experienced. The rest of the Old Testament reveals the consequences.”
