“Jesus has always stayed with me. Even during times when people I loved turned their backs on me, I was
physically and verbally abused, members told lies about me, local leaders eschewed me, a gift of wrapped dog
poop was left for me, letters were sent to me telling me to leave the Church because I didn’t belong, threats to
