The idea for The Crystal Birdcage came to me about a year into the *shudder* Pandemic. It basically wrote itself after I asked the question, "what would happen if the Internet collapsed?"

As I researched the topic, I quickly came to the conclusion that people are capable of desperate actions when the chips are truly down. With this in mind, I pounded out the first draft in a couple of months.

Needless to say, I view the world a little differently now, and no longer take electricity for granted.
