Nascido em Porto Alegre e filho do também escritor Érico Verissimo, Luis Fernando Verissimo (Luís Veríssimo, na ortografia legal) é famoso por suas crônicas cheias de ironia humorística. Além de escritor, ele também é jornalista, publicitário, cartunista e tradutor. Entre suas paixões, estão a família, o time de paixão, Internacional de Porto Alegre, e o jazz sendo praticamente inseparável de seu saxofone.
