Ben Beazley was born in Leicester on 10th August 1943 where he grew up and started his working life in his fathers butchers shop.

In 1965 Ben joined the Leicester Police Force where he rose to the rank of inspector, retiring in 1993.

Now with the time to pursue his love of history, Ben turned his hand at researching and writing local history books.

These ranged from the wartime years in Leicester to the history of the Leicester Police force and famous murders, producing seven local history books in total.

He was a regular guest on Radio Leicester and as a popular local historian gave many talks to groups and societies.
