Ted Curtis is an up and coming writer working in all fields, but not advertising. He is currently working on a novella about a metal box, a play about the sexual abuse of environmental protestors by undercover police officers, and a collection of short stories set in Swindon in the 1980s. During the 1990s he had some success in the small press, and even with Serpents Tail, but decided to concentrate on his drinking instead. He was very good at it too. Now he’s back.

Ted Curtis hasn't written any blog posts yet.

“What I sometimes mistake for ecstasy is simply the absence of grief.”
Sarah Kane, Crave

Charles Bukowski
“I never felt right being alone; sometimes it felt good but it never felt right.”
Charles Bukowski, Women

Charles Bukowski
“I was settled into nothingness; a kind of non-being, and I accepted it. It didn't make for an interesting person. I didn't want to be interesting, it was too hard. What I really wanted was only a soft, hazy space to live in, and to be left alone.”
Charles Bukowski, Women

Charles Bukowski
“If you're going to try, go all the way. Otherwise, don't even start. This could mean losing girlfriends, wives, relatives and maybe even your mind. It could mean not eating for three or four days. It could mean freezing on a park bench. It could mean jail. It could mean derision. It could mean mockery--isolation. Isolation is the gift. All the others are a test of your endurance, of how much you really want to do it. And, you'll do it, despite rejection and the worst odds. And it will be better than anything else you can imagine. If you're going to try, go all the way. There is no other feeling like that. You will be alone with the gods, and the nights will flame with fire. You will ride life straight to perfect laughter. It's the only good fight there is.”
Charles Bukowski, What Matters Most is How Well You Walk Through the Fire

Charles Bukowski
“I drank for some time, three or four days. I couldn't get myself to read the want ads. The thought of sitting
in front of a man behind a desk and telling him that I wanted a job, that I was qualified for a job, was too
much for me. Frankly, I was horrified by life, at what a man had to do simply in order to eat, sleep, and keep himself clothed. So I stayed in bed and drank. When you drank the world was still out there, but for
the moment it didn't have you by the throat. ”
Charles Bukowski, Factotum
