The migraines started in the early 60’s, causing me to drop out of university. I went to work as a temporary laborer sweeping out boxcars (that had been used to transport wheat), and the migraines stopped. This I quit doing, after deciding to article as a Chartered Accountant. It was a successful, but challenging career choice, especially since the headaches had returned. However, in the early 80's, while skiing, I met an Optometrist who thought that he might be able to sort out the headaches for me.

We met at his office and within a few minutes he had discovered the problem. Apparently my left eye was focusing at a lower level than my right eye, and that was creating a lot of eyestrain especially while reading. An inexpensive prism set in
