Michel Moatti, universitaire et journaliste de formation, a été correspondant de l’agence de presse britannique Reuters, et a vécu à Londres au début des années 1990. Il a signé en 2013 Retour à Whitechapel, La véritable histoire de Jack l’Éventreur, fruit d’une recherche de près de trois années dans les archives victoriennes : presse de l’époque, dossiers de la Metropolitan Police (Scotland Yard), rapports médico-légaux, témoignages des jurys d’enquêtes…
