Mahmoud Seraji, the contemporary Sufi poet, was born in the beautiful town of Astara in the plush province of Gilan in Iran. He has been composing poetry since the age of nine. In his late twenties he became interested in Erfan and created the trilogy of Mazamir Eshgh (Love Songs) مزامیر عشق . Mahmoud studied law at the University of Tehran and was a successful attorney until the early days of the revolution in Iran.
