Laura Canning grew up in Craigavon, Northern Ireland, in the 1980s and 1990s. She’s currently based in London, but travels nationally/internationally as much as possible.

Laura has a BA in English Lit and an MA in creative writing/community arts from Queen's University Belfast, qualifying her to teach/facilitate writing workshops to vulnerable groups. In the early 2000s, she ran the inaugural Women's Programme for a homeless charity in Belfast and later worked for Women's Aid. She then took a PGDip in magazine journalism from City University London; since then, her journalism has since been published internationally and she was the lead writer for a multi award-winning travel website for ten years. She now writes fiction full time.
