My name is Nia Imani. I’m 24 and I live in Tampa, Florida.
I’ve been writing for several years now. I guess you could say I’ve dabbled in a little of everything, including poems, short stories, plays and even a few books.
In 2008, I finally got up the courage to self-publish one of my plays called “Another Time, Another Place” (http://www.lulu.com/content/2341210) Writing is very personal to me, so doing this was a real challenge because I really had to step out of my comfort zone. But now I’m really happy that I did it. It was a great experience. I learned a lot. My friends were very supportive. I grew.
Since that time, I’ve also self-published two more of my plays, “Discerning Eyes” (http://www.lulu.com/content/4569258) and “Sampler Chef” (My name is Nia Imani. I’m 24 and I live in Tampa, Florida.

Besides writing, I’m also very involved in the arts in the community. I’ve been participating in the drama groups in Oldsmar since I was 17. Mainly, I’ve acted in plays, but I’ve also helped do a little writing, stage design and directing.
I’m currently a volunteer for Oldsmar’s Cultural Affairs Advisory Board. We’re a group of people who loves the arts and are working to grow and support the arts in the community.
Well, that’s pretty much everything that’s going on in my creative life right now.
For the last couple of months, I knew I was supposed to be giving a presentation about me and my book "Truly Madly Deeply", as well as have my first book signing.
