B. Victor Preston is a "middle-aged I guess" writer who lives in the creative Inner West of Sydney, Australia. His father was born in northern England of Yorkshire stock, but migrated "Down Under" with his own parents as a young man. Meanwhile the author's great-grandparents on his mother's side migrated from north of the Arctic Circle in Norway to the sugar cane-cutting Bundaberg region of the northern Australian state of Queensland in the 1880s - a fearsome climate shift. Another ancestor was a Danish sea captain. His paternal grandmother was a Burns, the Scottish link in the family, and there are Irish connections too.
