Jade Bates is an avid writer who draws inspiration from the beautiful messiness that is everyday life and then turns it into something that makes people cry. Her work often explores the gritty side of life - including all those emotions we try to stuff down and hide. After years of publishing online, she published her first printed collection, The Monsters We Keep, featuring her award-winning story At Death’s Door.

When not writing, she is often found fighting for her sanity or imagining that she is some kind of Lemony Snicket-esque type of author, hiding out from her enemies. There is no in between.
