Soviet Russian poet. Tushnova studied at the Leningrad Medical Institute from 1931 to 1935 and took part in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–45. Her work first appeared in 1944, and she subsequently published the verse collections First Book (1945) and Paths and Roads (1954). A highly sensitive lyric poet, Tushnova wrote her finest works in her later years. The collections Memory of the Heart (1958) and One Hundred Hours of Happiness (1965) are concerned with ideal love and genuine human relationships. Tushnova was also known for her translations.
