Colleen is drawn to the written word and the visual language of illustration. She has illustrated many children's readers in South Africa over the past ten years. Along the way she discovered stories of her own to share.

She grew up on C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia, Hans Christian Andersen's tales, and other children's stories that romanticise travel, hidden worlds and acknowledge the mystery and wonder of faith.
