On Daydreaming: A Writer’s Perspective

Remember when you used to be scolded for daydreaming? Dreaming rather than paying attention in class was a real no-no in my elementary school. Daydreaming the afternoon away was also frowned upon when there were chores or homework to be done. Though I'm not always a big fan of Margaret Atwood, I absolutely love Alias Grace. I read it when I was about 18, then studied it again in graduate school. It's one of the only books I've ever actually liked better after dissecting it in class. ...more
