Marek Vadas je absolventom FF UK, žije v Bratislave. Vydal zbierky poviedok: Malý román (1994, Prémia Literárneho fondu), Univerzita (1996, spoluautor Eman Erdélyi), Diabol pod čapicou (2002, spoluautor Eman Erdélyi), Prečo sa smrtka smeje (2003), Rozprávky z čiernej Afriky (2004, Cena Bibiany za najlepšiu a najkrajšiu detskú knihu sezóny). Jeho kniha Liečiteľ (2006) získala prestížnu literárnu cenu Anasoft Litera 2007 a vyšla už v piatom vydaní. V roku 2013 vydal zbierku poviedok Čierne na čiernom a o tri roky neskôr rozprávkovú knihu Návrat. V roku 2018 pripravuje na vydanie novú knihu Zlá štvrť (alebo 36 prípadov z konca sveta).
