K.A.S Quinn was born and raised in California. She was educated at Vassar in New York, where she took a degree in History and English, receiving honours for her thesis on tuberculosis and its representation in Victorian painting and literature (Conspicuous Consumption). For the past ten years she has been the publisher of the prestigious Spectator magazine. Her office in the row houses of Doughty St. abutted Charles Dickens’ home. She has written for The Times, The Telegraph, The Independent and The Wall Street Journal as well as appearing on Any Questions, A Good Read, Famous Lives and Broadcasting House for the BBC.
