Yiğit Okur’s poems were published in the Varlık, Yenilik, and Mavi magazines in the 50's. In that period he also translated novels and plays by Ugo Betti, Jean Cocteau, Herman Wook and André Maurois into Turkish. His theatre reviews were published in the Yeni Sabah and Vatan newspapers. Okur was one of the founders of the Pocket Theatre, and for a while he also appeared on stage. He went to Geneva in 1958 to continue his studies in Law, and there he received Geneva University’s Law Award when he completed his doctorate at the faculty with a first class degree.
