Arthur D. Innes was born on September 15, 1863, in Shimla, India.
Innes was an historian who wrote several books about Elizabethan England and the kingdom when it was led by the Tudors, one of the nation's most famous royal dynasties.
He passed away in 1938 in Uplyme, United Kingdom. Innes had a partner named Helen Pittis with whom he shared a relationship starting from 1901. He was survived by his children, including Neil McLeod Innes, and his grandchildren: Catherine McLeod Innes, Fiona McLeod Innes, and Roderick Temple McLeod Innes. His parents were Lucy Jane Macpherson and James John McLeod Innes.
