Santo L. Aricò grew up in Brooklyn, New York and lives in Oxford, Mississippi. After teaching for 39 years, he became a full-time writer. He is the author of the biography Oriana Fallaci: The Woman and the Myth (Southern Illinois University Press, 1998), the monograph Rousseau’s Art of Persuasion in "La Nouvelle Héloise"
(1994), and articles on 18th-century France. He is also the editor of Contemporary Women Writers in Italy: A Modern Renaissance (1990). He also writes historical fiction, mysteries, and short stories.
