John Bolland is a Scottish writer and artist whose work explores themes of industry, climate justice, and intergenerational responsibility. Born in Paisley in 1958, he pursued a formal education in science and engineering, earning degrees in Chemistry from Strathclyde University before embarking on a career in the international oil and gas industry. Over several decades, he worked in management and consultancy roles across North America, Southeast Asia, West Africa, and Australia, as well as the European Continental Shelf.
