Mohieddine Ellabbad is a well establised Egyptian artist, graphic designer and a published children's books author. He is best well known for his book "The Illustrator's Notebook".

He started his career as a caricaturist in several Arabic well-read magazines before earning a degree from the school of Fine Arts in Cairo University with a major in oil painting in 1962.

In 1974, he cofounded the first Arab publishing house of children's books دار الفتى العربي
and helped revolutionize the Arab children's literature. Using many heritage Arabic motifs and calligraphy he established a style of his own that was creative,witty and humorous. He was nicknamed "Mr. Millimeter" because of his reputation of an extreme need for a flawless printing quality.
