Doktor nauk humanistycznych w zakresie literaturoznawstwa, specjalność: teoria literatury – na podstawie pracy „Fantasy: przyczynek do monografii gatunku", Wydział Polonistyki UJ 2009.

Urodził się 13 styczna, w piątek, w Krakowie – prawdopodobnie, na szczęście. Dzieciństwo spędził na czytaniu fantastyki, graniu w gry fabularne i, to jasne, komputerowe, które towarzyszyły mu wiernie od chwili, gdy w prezencie komunijnym dostał ZX Spectrum. Mimo tych zainteresowań ukończył studia ma Wydziale Polonistyki Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego i tam też uzyskał doktorat z zakresu literaturoznawstwa na podstawie pracy poświęconej literaturze fantasy.
