Antonella Cilento è nata nel 1970 a Napoli dove vive e insegna scrittura creativa dal 1993. Nel 1998 è stata finalista del Premio Calvino e ha vinto il Premio Pier Vittorio Tondelli nel 1999.

Ha pubblicato per Guanda Una lunga notte (2002, Premio Fiesole 2002, Premio Viadana), Neronapoletano (2004), L’amore, quello vero (2005), Isole senza mare (2009) Asino chi legge (2010); ma anche: Il cielo capovolto (Avagliano, 2000), Non è il Paradiso (Sironi, 2003), Napoli sul mare luccica (Laterza, 2006), Nessun sogno finisce (Giannino Stoppani, 2007, Premio Giulitto 2008). Una lunga notte e Neronapoletano sono tradotti in Germania BTB Bertlesmann.
