“As my team and I examined the data from the intrusions into Google and other large companies, I felt like I was watching the world change before my eyes. Deep in the malware, I spotted the word “Aurora,” a word that instantly resonated with me from the Soviet history drilled into me during my school years in Moscow in the 1980s, and so I decided to name the hack Operation Aurora.
