Rita Falk hat sich mit ihrer Provinzkrimiserie um den Dorfpolizisten Franz Eberhofer (Winterkartoffelknödel, Dampfnudelblues und Schweinskopf al dente) in die Herzen ihrer Leser geschrieben. Von sich selber sagt die Autorin, dass sie die schönste Zeit ihres Lebens in Oberbayern verbracht hat. Dort hat sie ihre Kindheit verbracht, wuchs bei der Oma auf. Dem ihr so vertrauten Landstrich ist Rita Falk auch als Erwachsene treu geblieben. Sie lebt heute in München. Rita Falk ist mit einem Polizisten verheiratet und hat drei erwachsene Kinder.
