Martin Kelsey Brokenleg is a psychologist and author specializing in trauma, resilience, and Native American studies. A member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe, he taught Native American studies at Augustana University for 30 years and later directed the native ministries program at the Vancouver School of Theology. He co-developed the Circle of Courage, a widely adopted model of youth development based on the values of belonging, mastery, independence, and generosity. His work has influenced education and youth care globally, earning him the Albert E. Trieschman award for his contributions to the field.
