Julius Adams Stratton Sc.D. (Mathematical Physics, ETH Zürich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology), 1928; S.M., Electrical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 1926; S.B., Electrical Engineering, MIT, 1923) was an eminent electrical engineer and physicist who served as the 11th president of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). As a close colleague of Philip McCord Morse at MIT, he made substantial contributions to the theory of applied electromagnetism and played a foundational role in building the institute's post-WWII scientific infrastructure. ...more
