Adil Yakubov was born on 20 October 1926 at Kischlak Karnak, a village in the Syr-Darya region in Uzbekistan. After his military service 1945-1950, he attended the Philological Faculty of the National University of Uzbekistan (1951-1956). He then worked for several magazines, was a consultant in the Writers' Union, and also worked for the film studio "Uzbekfilm". Among other offices, he was also the first Vice President of the "Assembly of the Culture of the peoples of Central Asia". In 1985 he received the honorary title "People's Writer of Uzbekistan".
