Liza Maria Hanoman was born in Georgetown, Guyana on 7th October 1978. She was educated at St Gabriel's Primary and St Joseph's high schools respectively. In her collegial years she pursued studies in Social Work and Law. She has worked as a domestic abuse counselor, reproductive health counselor, probation and adoption officer. During her late teenaged years to early adulthood she was an avid charity worker.

She attributes her vivid imagination to her meek and mild formative years. She loves Yeats, Shakespeare and Tolkien.

During her late twenties, she was schooled in Trinidad and it was there she attributes her creative writing style being born, not because of time but because of supportive friends.
