After leaving the military Dave returned to Southern California where he entered the corporate world. After a year working for an L.A. based company, Dave opened his own successful telecommunications firm, which operated until 2004.

The corporate world was profitable but not terribly satisfying for Dave. In the mid-1980s he began working Bail Recovery, more commonly known as bounty hunting. Shortly thereafter Dave entered the field of law enforcement in which he supervised anti-drug and anti-gang operations in some of the most crime-ridden areas of Southern California.

Dave's style is to lead from out in front. He often spent 6 nights a week working with his officers on the streets of South Central L.A., East L.A., and Hawaiian Gardens, and other high-crime gang-infested areas. His teams targeted street crime by gangs such as the Crips, Bloods, MS-13, White Fence, 18th Street, Mexican Mafia, and others.

Dave's research into U.S. tax law began in 1993 after his curiosity was piqued in several conversations with close friends. Dave quickly noticed that the IRS was committing acts that the U.S. Supreme Court had clearly indicated were unconstitutional (illegal) when committed by law enforcement. Yet these very same acts - when committed by the IRS - were seen by the public as somehow legal and constitutional.

The perception that the IRS was above the law was disturbing to Dave. In a free country, no one is above the law. Little did Dave know that he was going to un-earth an "on-going criminal enterprise" that makes the crimes of gangs like the Crips, Bloods, and MS-13 look like amateur hour!

For more than a decade Dave assisted nontaxpayers in successfully attaining their financial dreams and aspirations in an environment in which few people understand the proper (limited) application of the income tax. Dave Champion is inarguably America's expert at how to live happily and successfully as a nontaxpayer.
