Pieter Hoexum (Meppel, 1968) studeerde aan de kunstacademie AKI in Enschede en filosofie aan de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. Hij was boekverkoper bij Athenaeum Boekhandel in Amsterdam en is sinds 2002 freelance publicist. Hij schrijft onder andere voor NRC, Trouw, Filosofie Magazine, De Groene Amsterdammer, De Gids, De Nederlandse Boekengids, De Architect en de website Archined.nl. Daarnaast is hij columnist van Blauwe Kamer, tijdschrift voor landschapsarchitectuur en stedenbouw. Hij schrijft filosofische beschouwingen over architectuur en stedenbouw, en vooral over wonen.
