ps - I know you don't care much for the cover, but there is a story behind it. It was sent to me by a 12-year-old boy named Ruben Quintana. He read my book as part of a school project and sent me a thank you note afterwards, and this drawing was on the cover of the note. Inside he wrote, "I hope they make a movie of your book." I know it's not the most wonderful or dynamic artwork for a book cover, but it always reminds me that I'm writing for kids like Ruben and I need to stay true to this audience. I read that note over and over while I continued to struggle with this story because it kept me going. Beyond his name, I have no idea who Ruben is. I talked to his class once, but he never raised his hand or told me who he was. He just sent me the thank you note with the pencil sketch that's now on the cover.Del
Hi Maria! Wow! I'm mean...wow! I showed your review to my wife and we both agree that this review was probably the BEST review I've received so far. Not because of the star rating, but because of how well written it is and also your insights into the story. You seem to have caught every subtle influence and nuance I tried to include. I was especially caught off guard when you mentioned the spoofs of Saturday morning cartoons, etc. Yes, this is exactly the type of 'feel' I was trying to create in my story. One of my favorite things growing up was getting up early on Saturday's and disappearing into cartoons where everything and everyone was stereotypical, but yet deliciously fun.Thank you for taking a chance and looking past the cover. :) I really appreciate your efforts and feel very grateful you agreed to review Kevin's Point of View.
Warmly,
Del
Hi, Del! Just wanted to let you know that my review of "Kevin's Point of View" is up! You can find it here:http://anightsdreamofbooks.blogspot.c...
It was great fun to read!! CONGRATS & KUDOS!! : )

About the cover...now that I know the story behind it, I feel pretty bad... That's a very sweet story! So I think I'll go back and delete the comment about the cover. You were right to use it! As for the title, well, I guess I can live with it...since someone has already commented on it, I think I'll leave that part in the review.
I hope you start working on a sequel soon, too, because I want to read more about Kevin and his crazy adventures! Oh, and I LOVED the ending of this book!!!! PERFECT!!!
Anyway, when you publish your sequel (sure hope I've convinced you!), please send me a review copy!!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU & YOUR FAMILY!!!
