My great-grandfather kept a journal/scrap book that holds several newspaper clippings from the past. One such article, shared that my great-great-great uncle was an avid sailor and loved the sea. He went out one day and never returned. Searchers found his boat and though there had a been a high wind, his spectacles were neatly folded on the seat. Did he choose to jump overboard, or was there foul play? I plan to research more and write this story!(less)

Author Interview with Lois Peterson

Shelter: Homelessness in Our Community

I remember back in 2009, being invited to participate in a writer’s group with Lois Peterson. Together, with other wonderful writers, we workshopped both of our books, Benched and Beyond Repair, which were released in early 2011, as part of the Orca Currents. Later that year, my second novel, Living Rough was released; a fictional account of a homeless youth l Read more of this blog post »

Cristy Good to hear from you Kristin!
Glad you're doing well and that you have a new book coming out in the Spring. Congratulations! You're post has motivated me to build my blog/website as the host of my previous blog page disappeared and my blogs with them! Will check out your page,
Cristy

Kristin Butcher Hi Cristy,

Hope all is well in your world. I haven't fallen off the face of the earth; just left the social network. (It's been a year and a half already.) It wasn't a a healthy fit for me. New book coming out next spring. In the meantime, I'm honing my painting skills. Who knows? Perhaps I can become an illustrator.
