I am an avid (though not professional) sailor and a medical doctor. I drew inspiration for my book from these two aspects of my life. I have published a number of non-fiction books, but Unto the Breach is my first work of fiction.

As a teenager, I loved to read (I think I may have been one of very few who had the newspaper delivered to camp in the summers!) and when I became a father, I used to search for books to read to my boys that would similarly capture their attention and get them excited about reading. I noticed that the availability of this type of book was fairly small.
