Nat Segnit was born in London and educated at Lincoln College, Oxford, where he gained a first in English. His short stories and journalism have appeared in various magazines and newspapers including the Times and The Independent on Sunday. His comic play, Dolphin Therapy, was broadcast on Radio 4 in 2004, and a six-part comedy series, Strangers on Trains, in which he also performed, aired on the same channel in 2008. A new series, Beautiful Dreamers, was broadcast in autumn 2010.

His first novel, Pub Walks in Underhill Country, takes the form of a practical guide for walkers, and was published by Penguin / Fig Tree in February 2011.
